Lights, a drone show and the Christmas spirit
It’s that time of year again, and the pre-Christmas season is now underway at Westfield Centro. The traditional “Lights On” ceremony was held this year on 15 November, and naturally the Gang was represented – along with Nadja’s daughter Lilli (our star guest, and maybe part of the next generation at Westfield Rise?). Her love of all things glittery made the evening even more magical!
The first highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the moment when the Christmas Angel ceremoniously switched on the Christmas lights and the entire Westfield Centro was suddenly bathed in festive splendour as the Christmas market officially opened. Of course, our path led us straight to the beautifully decorated booths. Savoury bratwurst, sweet waffles and steaming punch – we feasted our way through the lot and still managed to get a bit of Christmas shopping in.
However, our absolute highlight was the breathtaking drone show which transformed the sky above the Christmas market into a glowing work of art as hundreds of drones danced in sync in the dark, forming twinkling stars, Christmas trees and even the Westfield logo – what a jaw-dropper!
First new “Super Totem” unveiled
Our new Super Totem on Luise-Albertz-Platz square was every bit as impressive. This stunning and oversized LED screen ensures maximum visibility and blends in perfectly with the festive atmosphere. What a great way to attract lots of attention during the Christmas season, when colourful lights can be seen everywhere and the Christmas market is bustling up to 23 December.
