The gang goes ‘fairly’ wild
Did someone say action? When it’s party time right outside the Düsseldorf office door, you can count on the gang to join in! So off we went to the Rheinkirmes funfair last Friday where we put a veritable host of cool rides through their paces and sampled the snack stands.
All in all, we reckon it’s not just the four million visitors that make the ‘Rumble on the Rhine’ one of Germany’s biggest public festivals – the range of exhibitors is truly so immense you struggle to decide where to go first! We went on rides such as the Wild Mouse, the Freefall Tower and the Bavarian Tower – a chain carousel that lifts you 90 metres into the air, offering a spectacular view. And a go on the white-water ride was a great way to cool down in between.
People who know us also know we can’t do without chocolate, so after jacket potatoes, langos, flambé salmon and other culinary funfair classics, we indulged in the obligatory chocolate-covered fruit on a stick. And to round off our after-work excursion with a local speciality, we toasted our successful teambuilding initiative with a tasty Düsseldorf Alt beer. So it didn’t matter that we had no luck in the prize draw or that we’d backed the wrong horse – er, camel – in the camel race.
