Why we love events as buzz boosts

The event season is now open! Our première at the markeding show at the Vienna Hofburg was the warm-up for a summer full of exciting events. A totally successful start: Lisa, Kathi and Jessi welcomed over 2,000 visitors to the stand, held over 100 conversations – including those with agencies and brand contacts – and were overwhelmed by the high level of interest shown in Westfield Rise, especially in our two Austrian centres.

At the beginning of April, they were the venues for the Westfield Good Festival which took place simultaneously at all Westfield flagship destinations worldwide. The event was also our official kick-off for the many exciting events that will get our centres buzzing again this year. In the summer months especially, there’s a real festival-atmosphere on the agenda. And this will be happening in several destinations at once: It all starts with “Bilk’s on a roll” at Düsseldorf Arcaden (located in the city’s Bilk district) which is due to be held on 15 and 16 June, the first weekend of the EURO 2024 soccer tournament, with football as the central theme this year of course. A street soccer court, a beach area, an e-games lounge and a DIY station will offer the perfect mix of action and relaxation and plenty of creative promotional opportunities as well.

Things really get ‘instagrammable’ at the end of July, just a few kilometres away as the car park deck at Köln Arcaden is transformed again into a pop-up beach between 25 July and 17 August. After two successful All-Pink editions, there’s a new concept this time around. Let’s just say things will be even more colourful and the programme will have plenty of highlights in store – the ideal opportunity for brands to present themselves with cool promos in a summery beach atmosphere!

A dinosaur-sized summer programme

We also have the right event for the very young visitors to the centre: during the holiday season, a currently empty location in the winter garden at Ruhr Park Bochum will be transformed into a prehistoric adventure area. The dinosaurs will be on the loose for a week – at various craft stations, face painting, at the photo station and in the centre’s own excavation site. Even walking act Shoppy will be putting on his best safari costume. This will also create the perfect playground for family-oriented brands that wish to run a promotion alongside the event and address the target group attracted by the dinosaurs.

We hope this small selection of highlights will whet your appetite for the summer as much as it has ours, and we’re already looking forward to planning and staging loads of cool brand promos around these events. Let’s get the summer started!
