Sweet delights with Willy Wonka at Westfield Centro
- Major cinema film promotion
- Four-metre-high tower of sweets
- Chocolate samples handed out
Probably the world’s most unusual chocolatier is making a guest appearance at Westfield Centro in Oberhausen in November and December: famous from the popular children’s book by Roald Dahl and the film adaptations of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, Willy Wonka is now in the spotlight once again. “Wonka”, the prequel to the bizarre confectionery entrepreneur, was released in cinemas on 7 December 2023, this time with Timothée Chalamet in the leading role as Wonka.
Warner Bros. Germany came up with a special campaign to promote the film, with an eye-catching tower of sweets as a photo spot in the shopping centre from 26 November to 17 December. The location right next to the entrance to the popular Christmas market ensured maximum attention.
Sweets as far as the eye can see
The film title “Wonka” in gold lettering and a figure of the eponymous main character himself greeted the visitors next to the tower of confectionery. In keeping with the Christmas season, the pyramid-like shape of the tower was reminiscent of a colourfully decorated Christmas tree. The letter “W”, designed in the style of the movie title, was enthroned at the top like a golden poinsettia – the perfect backdrop for a themed photo.
