Just as the planets revolve around the sun, time also moves inexorably on. Swatch, known for its colourful and innovative watches, combined these two worlds in an impressive manner as part of its Europe-wide “Omega X Swatch MoonSwatch Promotion Tour”. From 30 to 31 August, the Swiss manufacturer stopped off at Westfield Ruhr Park in Bochum and delighted visitors with a glimpse into the galaxy of Swatch creations. Just a short time later, from 20 to 21 September, the cosmic mission landed at Westfield Centro in nearby Oberhausen.

Mission to Earth and beyond

The BIOCERAMIC MoonSwatch collection pays homage to the legendary Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch – the first watch on the moon – and interprets its design in eleven different models, each one dedicated to a different planet or celestial body in our solar system. The Swiss watchmaker has included this in its innovative promotional campaign, with each of the associated MoonSwatch cars, which are designed accordingly and stopped off at various surprising locations, representing one of the designs.

The “Mission to Earth” made a stop at Westfield Ruhr Park and Westfield Centro in the form of a specially branded Fiat 500. The mint-coloured runabout reflected the beauty of our home planet and proved a real eye-catcher.

During the promotions, friendly staff were on hand to tell the story behind the watches and advise visitors on their choice of model. Anyone who fell in love with one of the exclusive pieces had the opportunity to purchase it there and then and take a piece of Swiss watchmaking tradition home with them.

Journey through space

Numerous visitors were captivated by the intergalactic atmosphere and the unique designs of the MoonSwatch collection and snapped up one of these coveted pieces of jewellery. And so, the watch manufacturer’s first promotional campaign at Westfield shopping destinations was a resounding success for everyone involved.
