Repairing instead of replacing: Henkel Pattex shows how it’s done
- Brand experience addressing sustainability
- Free DIY workshops
- Creative outdoor “upcycling hut”
Turning old into new with creative flair: upcycling – upgrading worn-out everyday objects into stylish new products – is all the rage. Often it doesn’t take much at all to turn seemingly useless leftovers into real eye-catchers. A few drops of glue and a cool idea can be enough. Henkel’s original DIY campaign demonstrated the endless possibilities to visitors to Munich’s Pasing Arcaden.
The consumer goods specialist set up an inviting craft corner in mid-September on the mall’s Paseo outdoor area to promote its Pattex brand of adhesives. Designed in the style of a cosy garden shed, the set-up offered actual and aspiring amateur craftspeople an ideal inspiring environment in which to give their creativity free rein. The “Henkel Upcycling Hut by Henkel Pattex” gave them the opportunity to effect professional repairs on their broken utensils under the watchful eye of experienced Pattex experts, giving broken objects a whole new lease of life.
The right adhesive – whatever the job
Breathing new life into the old suitcase that split open on its last outing, concealing the hole in a favourite pair of jeans using a stylish patch, or creating elegant designer furniture from old scraps of wood: Pattex’s comprehensive range of products meant there were effective solutions to nearly all DIY problems in the wooden hut located in the middle of the outdoor area. A campaign that literally held fast to its promises.
